Sand Play allows children to experiment with the textures and the properties of different substances. These activities also promote the development of other skills such as maths, science and language. It encourages children to develop their imagination and creativity and is a way to release energy and relax. Children focus on the process of doing and being in the moment, practicing social skills, negoitating and sharing.
Children have always been intrigued by sand play.
They dig in sand, sift it, build with it, pour it, enjoy the feel
and smell of it, pretend with it, and explore how it moves.
