The Aboriginal design Turtle Season recycled plastic mat in Blue hues, is designed by Aboriginal Artist Christine Slabb. It tells the story of the Green Sea turtle's laying season. The Turtle Season mat features four mama turtles on their migration out of the sea to lay their eggs. Green Sea turtles will lay over 100 eggs in one nest in one season between late November to January. It can be used for reading, story times and as a play mat in the home corner or for block play. The mat has the same design on both sides but the colours are reversible. Mat colours may differ slightly from the images shown due to the different inks used in individual print runs. Designed in Australia, manufactured in India or China. These mats are suitable for indoor and outdoor use, but extensive exposure to sun or rain will lead to fading and deterioration over time.
These double-sided mats are designed using Indigenous symbols, the symbols are used as a form of communication, a way to tell a story, instruction or direction. The versatility, light weight durability of the recycled polypropylene play mats are only enhanced by how easy they are to keep clean. Simply vacuum up the spills, give the mat a quick wash with soapy water, then toss over the line to dry. Great for use outdoors, however do not leave in direct sunlight or rain full time due to UV exposure. Store clean and dry.
