This nesting set of solid beechwood arches invites children to explore curved forms through construction and imaginative play. Children can stack, nest and layer the arches to create bridges, tunnels and flowing structures, developing an understanding of balance, symmetry and design as they experiment with different arrangements.
The curved shapes offer a different building experience, encouraging children to think creatively as they combine pieces with other materials in small-world play or construction setups. The arches can also be used for sorting and sequencing by size and colour, supporting early mathematical thinking and spatial awareness.
Each piece is finished to highlight the natural wood grain and coloured in the seven tones of the rainbow, with a solid inner block included in each nesting set. Heights range from approximately 19mm to 73mm, all with a 40mm depth, providing a clear progression in size.
EYLF Learning Outcome Connections
Outcome 4.2: Children develop a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, inquiry and experimentation as they build and explore curved structures.
Outcome 4.4: Children resource their own learning through connecting with materials as they design and construct imaginative forms.
Outcome 5.4: Children begin to understand how symbols and pattern systems work as they explore shape, size and spatial relationships.
