Rainbow Rice

Easy peasy Rainbow Rice - ideal for setting up in a tray for exploration and a wonderful sensory experience. Add cups, funnels or spoons to mix and measure - or cars and small figurines for sensory play with a twist!

  • Dry Rice
  • Liquid Paint
  • A bowl or bag
  • Tray


  • Divide the rice into a bowl, use one colour paint per bowl.
  • Squeeze a large dollop of paint and simply squish the rice around until evenly combined.
  • Spread onto tray. Leave to dry. Enjoy the sensory experience.
  • Note: to make the rice smell wonderful add a few drops of essential oil..
