Aussie Nut Roller - Small

Celebrate the sounds and textures of Australian native flora with this beautifully handcrafted Aussie Nut Roller. Native nuts are enclosed within a timber cage, creating different sounds depending on how the roller is used. 

When rolled along the ground, the nuts travel over the timber dowels to produce a gentle, rhythmic sound, while shaking the roller creates a distinct auditory experience. Each interaction encourages children to explore sound, movement and cause and effect through rich sensory play.

As children roll, shake and listen, they develop gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness while building early scientific understanding through observation and inquiry. The roller also provides opportunities to connect with Country by exploring Australian native flora and engaging in conversations about the natural environment. Seedpods vary depending on seasonal availability and the impacts of bushfires.
